I can't count how many times I've seen this scene: a crooked road, winding between the countryside hills, emerald green or golden, and disappearing into the horizon. And yet, it still thrills me every time.
Where are the travelers heading? Did they leave early at sunrise and have been on the road all day, making frequent stops to take pictures and grab a bite at local diners? Are they already just a few miles away from their long-awaited destination — maybe a cabin in the woods or a campsite by the lake? Some are snoozing, while others are taking pictures of the stunning sunset skies from the car window. Or are they traveling back home from a long vacation full of fun and adventures, unable to wait to fall into their missed soft beds?
We don't know for sure. Let's just wish them a safe arrival before night falls.
